Reach North America--Rev. Jonathan Smith Missionary Bishop

In early 2008, he sensed a call to vocational Christian ministry. He and his wife agreed to pursue this calling together, and Dr. Smith left his career. He entered seminary to begin formal ministry training. Upon graduating from seminary, he was offered an opportunity to become the founding Dean of Distance Education at Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale, FL. While serving at Knox, he pursued advanced studies in theology and ministry, culminating in doctoral studies.

It was during this time that he felt called to pastoral ministry. He was ordained as an Anglican minister 2011 in the Church of Rwanda. In 2022, Archbishop William Mikler of Communio Christiana and Archbishop Robert Gosselin of the Continuing Evangelical Episcopal Communion consecrated him as a missionary bishop to launch and lead Reach North America.

Dr. Smith holds multiple degrees from three evangelical seminaries and a doctorate from Knox Theological Seminary in Fort Lauderdale. He most recently serves as the Executive Vice President of Aidan University. He has served as a missionary in Central America and Africa.
